1808 CAPPED BUST $5 PCGS MS64+

This 1808 CAPPED BUST $5 is a choice mint state representative, certified MS64+ by PCGS, with details that merit close attention. Surfaces show satiny luster; high-grade preservation, the kind of technical quality advanced collectors study closely. Half eagles were a cornerstone of 19th-century gold commerce, and better preserved examples are closely studied for originality and surface quality. The Bass pedigree adds a further layer of provenance, a point of real interest to collectors who track important cabinets. The reported census of 1 at this grade and 1 finer underscores its limited certified availability. The coin has natural appeal for advanced gold collectors who emphasize originality and certified quality.
