1820 CAPPED BUST $5, CURL 2-LARGE LETTERS PCGS MS63

This PCGS MS63 1820 Capped Bust half eagle, Curl 2-Large Letters is a Choice Mint State coin distinguished by well-defined striking detail, active luster, and satiny texture. Early U.S. gold survives in small numbers, and high-grade pieces are pursued for their combination of monetary history and die-variety scholarship. Attribution specialists will note Curl 2, Large Letters. From a scarcity standpoint, the issue is notable: fewer than 40 coins are believed to exist in all grades. Mint State preservation is central to its appeal, particularly because marks, strike softness, or impaired luster can quickly limit comparable coins. The coin should speak most strongly to collectors who prize originality, accurate attribution, and superior preservation.
