Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) is an authentication and grading service for rare coins. PCGS was started by seven coin dealers in 1985 to standardize coin grading. Today it is the leading coin grading company in American numismatics and it now has divisions in Europe and Asia. PCGS is owned by parent company Collectors Universe, Inc.
